The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is a global initiative designed to develop the next generation of transformational leaders by enabling highly talented, service-oriented youth, Primarily young Africans, to pursue their higher education and develop their leadership potential. The program is specifically targeted at talented youth who have access to high-level Education is hampered by economic and social constraints, and it places special emphasis on Reaching young women, refugees and forcibly displaced youth and their youth

Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University, for the academic year 2024
Western Cape will support undergraduate degree-level study for a maximum period of 4 years (3-
First-year degree plus 1 year Honors degree or 4 year first degree) for promising candidates.

Following areas/subjects:

• Humanities and Arts (History, Linguistics, Sociology and Women’s and Gender Studies);
• Economic and Management Sciences (Economics, Informatics and Public
Administration);
• Education (Maths and Science, Foundation Stage);
• Natural sciences (biological, computational, mathematical and physical sciences)
